Unite employees support Adventureman challenge to raise money for sick children

Unite sent four employees to the USA to support Jamie McDonald – aka Adventureman – in his epic challenge to run coast-to-coast across America in 2019.

Unite’s runners flew out to join Jamie on his final leg of his epic 210 marathons all to raise money for sick children’s charities. Jamie ran by himself, without any support crew, pushing his belongings in a cart in front of him and was extremely grateful for the support of running companions to get him across the finish line. As a result of this incredible challenge, Jamie managed to raise £1 million for sick children in the UK and around the world.

Our four employees came together from Birmingham, London, Bristol and Edinburgh to support Jamie with his fundraising activity and marathon running.

Unite’s Saffa Freebrey, Web Content Executive, said:

“It was great to be able to support Jamie McDonald (AKA Adventureman), along with three of my colleagues, in his epic journey across the US. He is truly an inspirational human being! He has overcome debilitating childhood illnesses and pushed his body to extreme limits. He’s dedicated his life to helping sick children and their families get the best possible care.”
