Unite Students staff take on the great Bristol 10k – 13 May 2016

10 November 2016

In their 25th year as a business 25 staff from Bristol based Unite Students are making their final preparations before taking part in the Great Bristol 10k on Sunday. The runners, all of whom work in the Unite Students head office on St Thomas Street, are aiming to raise £5000 for the Bristol based charity Penny Brohn and Sport Relief.

The sponsorship pledges they have collected will be matched by Unite Students through the company’s charity match scheme. The scheme allows every member of Unite Students staff to ask the company to match fundraising activities up to £250 per year.

Richard Smith, who is currently Managing Director of Operations at Unite Students and due to take over as CEO on 1 July, said:

“As a Bristol business we’re delighted to support this event, which as well as being a lot of fun will raise a lot of money for charities in Bristol and across the UK.

As the UK’s leading developer and manager of student accommodation, we’re in a good position to help raise money for the local and national charities we support. The Great Bristol 10K is just one of many events our staff and students take part in throughout the year. We wish everyone taking part on Sunday well, their efforts whether they are raising money for charity or not are sure to make the event a success.”
