This is an unprecedented event for our business and a shock to us all.
On behalf of everyone at Unite Students, I would like to express our heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Sabita Thanwani. Our thoughts are with them at this very difficult time.
Sabita tragically lost her life while resident in our Arbour House property in London. This incident is subject to an ongoing investigation by the Metropolitan Police and we will do everything we can to assist them with their enquiries as well as working with City, University of London where Sabita was a student.
We have provided alternative accommodation for any student wishing to relocate from this property and, working with City, University of London, are providing welfare support. We encourage anyone who feels personally affected by this incident to seek help from family, friends or their university student welfare officer. Students can also talk to Unite Students staff in their property, or get further support at Student Minds.
The safety and wellbeing of all our students is and always will be a priority.
