Meet the buyer innovation day – 22 November 2016
22 November 2016
The Bristol Post’s Business of the Year 2016, Unite Students, is looking for businesses to come and pitch ideas at its Buyer Innovation Day on Wednesday 30 November 2016.
The Unite Students procurement team will be at Yeo Valley HQ near Bristol and businesses will have a 20 minute slot each to pitch their products and services.
Unite Students is the UK’s largest developer and operator of purpose-built student accommodation. It was founded in Bristol in 1991 and has so far housed more than half a million students. This academic year it has welcomed its largest ever number of students, 50,000 students, to more than 140 properties in 28 towns and cities in England and Scotland.
Steve Batley, Estates Director at Unite Students, commented:
‘We are always looking at ways of innovating what we do for our students to give them the best and most supportive experience.
‘This is a rare opportunity for businesses to present their new products and services directly to Unite’s team of buyers. We aren’t looking for existing products or services, we are genuinely interested in innovation.
‘As a successful company and the market leader in the purpose built-student accommodation sector we are constantly looking for new ways to provide our students with the best possible student experience.
‘From external building materials to internal furniture and fittings; from waste management solutions to fire safety equipment. If businesses have something offer which would benefit our students then we would like to meet them.’
To guarantee a slot, businesses must donate £100 towards Penny Brohn, one of the local charities which Unite Students supports.
