In Bristol, half of the rooms in Unite Students new 623-bed Avon Point property are being let to the University of Bristol.  The building is located next to the university’s new Temple Quarter Campus, which opens in September 2026.

The £75 million development offers stylish living spaces, group study areas and a range of high-quality amenities, including an on-site gym, spin studio, karaoke room and roof terrace.

The scheme was delivered by lead contractor, RG Group, and includes commercial and public art units with active frontage along Feeder and Albert Road, as well as improved landscaping of the surrounding public space.

In Edinburgh, Burnet Point is Unite Student’s first combined development of purpose-built student accommodation, build-to-rent and affordable housing.

The mixed-use scheme combines 298 student bedrooms in a mix of cluster and studio flats and 66 one-, two and three-bedrooms flats, including 17 affordable units.

The £59 million Abbey Lane development, constructed by GRAHAM, has been designed with sustainability at its core, incorporating low-carbon concrete and timber composite materials.

In addition to these two new properties, Unite Students has completed a £26.3 million upgrade of its Broadcasting Tower property in Leeds.

The company has completed a major refurbishment of the 240-bed student accommodation with improvements to all studio bedrooms and cluster flats, as well as an expansion and upgrade of the common room.

The external facade of the property has also been replaced and upgraded to improve the safety and look of the building.

Unite Students’ off-campus development pipeline currently stands at £925 million with 4,600 beds committed in Russell Group cities.

Joe Lister, CEO at Unite Students, comments: “We’re thrilled to have opened the doors to these two outstanding, new properties, as well our recently refurbished Broadcasting Tower in Leeds.

“These three cities are all home to leading, Russell Group universities, where we see the strongest long-term prospects for student demand.

“In providing over 1,000 high quality, affordable bedrooms we’re helping to significantly improve supply, while also freeing up much-needed privately rented homes for families and young professionals.”
